Product Description

The function of the crankshaft is to turn the thrust from the piston rod into a rotating torque, turn the reciprocating linear motion of the piston into the circular motion of the crankshaft, and then pass the engine torque to the transmission system through the flywheel; It also drives the engine's valve mechanism and other auxiliary devices. The crankshaft consists mainly of the crankshaft front end (or free end), connecting rod journal, spindle journal, crank, balance block, and crankshaft rear end flange (or power output end). The crankshaft has a crankshaft timing gear at the front end and a flywheel at the back end (some engines also have a balance block).

The crankshaft is made of alloy steel castings. The crankshaft is equipped with large gear rings, connecting rods, bearings, etc. The shape of the large gear ring is a herringbone tooth, and the inner hole of the big gear ring is fitted with the crankshaft through interference fit and fastened with bolts and anti loosening nuts. The connecting rod end is installed on the three eccentric cranks of the curve through a single row short cylindrical roller bearing, and the small end is installed on the cross pin through a double row long cylindrical roller bearing. The two ends of the curve are double row radial spherical roller bearings.

 

Common Issues and Maintenance

 

Due to reasons such as assembly or too much impact, after a period of on-site use of drilling mud pumps, it is often found that the main bearing of the crankshaft runs into the inner circle. After the drilling pump disintegrates, careful inspection will find that the journal and the main bearing inner rail move and rub against each other, resulting in wear and tear. The bearing pressure plate and the side of the inner track of the bearing are shiny, and the gap is measured with a feeler gauge, and serious bearings will fall off. According to assembly standards, all main bearings and crankshaft journals have interference fit, which may result in clearance fit or failure to meet fit requirements after wear, reducing connection strength and requiring timely handling.Compare the data of the worn area measured with an external micrometer with the original size, according to years of on-site repair experience, it is concluded that Loctite adhesive is used for treatment when the gap is less than 0.254mm, and when the gap exceeds 0.254mm, repair the welding and then on the lathe to reach the required size
